ABOUT US
This is a website created by and for the students in HIST 329, "Cultures of Colonialism: Everyday Life in the British Empire," during the Spring 2018 semester at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University.
During the course of this semester, we have worked together to investigate the British imperial past through analysis of primary and secondary sources, images, and literature. We have focused in particular on British encounters with the African continent, in order to dig deeper into the dynamics that shaped the past.

Now, the students of HIST 329 have embarked on their own research projects to reconstruct the stories of people who lived in various parts of the British Empire. In doing so, they have become the historians. This site presents a digital anthology of their findings.
